Susan Rosen, a breast cancer survivor and yoga teacher from Del Mar, CA, has produced a highly focused instructional video for women who have had breast cancer and subsequent surgery. She has developed this instructional video presenting a gentle Yoga program with poses that are specifically tailored to women who have had breast cancer surgery or radiation treatments. The video emphasizes poses and postures that are simple to do for women who have never tried Yoga.
Yoga can help to ease pain and break down scar tissue while increasing blood flow and promoting faster healing. Susan has experienced that Yoga in general and these restorative poses in particular can lower blood pressure and assist in calming and centering the mind.
Susan did the poses daily and was amazed at how quickly her pain and discomfort were relieved, her range of motion restored and, more importantly, how it brought her mind to a place of calmness and clarity. Not only did it help her accelerate her healing compared to other women she knew who had a mastectomy, but it also helped in healing the mental and physical scars that remain after surgery and chemotherapy. |
